A giant kangaroo was sighted at the Dayton's Bluff Elementary School Spring Carnival on June 7, 2001. DB Elementary is also facing more serious matters. Shirley Nagle has been a fixture on the East Side for 46 years. See why she is still smiling after all these years and what her plans are for the future. The Hmong Women's Peace Walk has a powerful  message: "Stop the Violence! Make the Peace!" Domestic violence is a problem for all races.

A neighborhood "thank you" and "we will miss you" to Carol Carey, who is moving on from her position of Executive Director at the Upper Swede Hollow  Neighborhoods Association (USHNA).  Carol has been the driving force behind many neighborhood improvements.  Left to right: Alley Carey, Carol Carey, City Councilmember Kathy Lantry and Jennifer Dunn at the June 7th event honoring Carol.

The Board of Directors of Hopewell Communications, Inc., publishers of the Dayton's Bluff District Forum, would like to say a special thank you to First Lutheran Church for their generous donation to this community newspaper.
